Corset Guide

A Victorian style guide focused on the evolution of the corset throughout history.

A close up of the final corset guide made from a lino print, and printed in risograph.

Corset and girdle lino prints as smaller illustrations inside my guide.

I worked in the style of Millie Amber to doodle some corset designs.

I was inspired by 1700s corsets in creating some designs of my own.

I looked at the aesthethic of Victorian corsets and vintage girdles as prompts for my theme. I drew my corset out using a mono print method which made a quirky style. However this wasn't the look I was going for.

I thought it could be a good idea to make a corset box for my guide to fold inside of. I did some designs for it and tested them out in drypoint. But I wasn't keen on this idea in the end.

I tried a different style corset out in drypoint. This created an old, gothic feel.

I was inspired by Victorian textile patterns and doodled some floral patterns out as potentials for my corset pattern.
